bassplayerjj 0
All this talk that Sam gave, and Kev gave it when he came also. We need to find 'proven' EPL players. We';ve done this for the past few years FFS; Parker, Duff, Bowyer, Butt, Woodgate, Carr, Smith, Barton, Viduka, Owen etc.... We've wasted a lot of fucking money and wages on these proven players and for some reason it hardly ever works out with us. If these players were still top notch then the wouldn't have been flogged to us. We need to find some more quality foreign players because quite frankly, especially the English ones, can't play the football that we 'crave', the football that Arsenal and Man Utd play. It's obvious to me that with proper scouting, we will save money on better players than are already in the EPL so we don't have to pay over-the-odds for over-the-hill money-grabbers. Let's hope Morshley and the minions recognise this and don't make the same mistakes FS has made for the past few years... Guest alex
EPL? Are you American? KK did ok with 'proven' Premier League players first time round, along with the odd lower league player and overseas star. I think the trouble is, since then, with the exception possible exception of SBR's reign the so-called proven PL players we've bought, in the main, just haven't been of high enough quality. Simple as that really.
MattM4 0
EPL? Are you American? EPL has become internet talk though... the kind of word you might use a lot but never actually say it. A bit like "douchebag"

Tooj 17
Maybe just The Premiership isn't quite frankly as good as we are lead to believe.

'Best league in the world' has produced 2 Champions League winners and only, iirc, one other finalist. Most popular league though. Nice 'Mork and Mindy' reference there Snakey btw. khay 10
However 2 runners up and 1 winner in the last couple of years would say its improving.

Jusoda Kid 1
Personally i would stay well clear of french and spanish, their attitude stinks. Get some germans in i reckon
Bombadil 0
I think the first post is spot on. I'd rather we took a risk on foreigners with talent, hunger and commitment than pay over the odds for overrated English cloggers like Smith and Barton, who I thought from the start they were bad signings. Isegrim 10017
Personally i would stay well clear of french and spanish, their attitude stinks. Get some germans in i reckon To be fair, I don't think there are that many who would be available and really adding quality to the team. I agree about the general sentiment though. Most German players (or in case of Berbatov from the Bundesliga) adapted to English football quite well.
Chaser 1321
Id go for Scandinavians. Always pretty good on FM and plus they adapt to the weather quite well too..
David Kelly 1280
Id go for Scandinavians. Always pretty good on FM and plus they adapt to the weather quite well too.. There's not a great deal of them about who you would expect to add much though is there, and our last couple of players from that region (Tomassen and Andersson weren't exactly massively successful were they). With regards to French players I'm not sure that I would be so keen to avoid them. Cantona, Ginola, Henry, Pires, Petit, Viera, Anelka, Robert, Distan, Evra, Silvestre, Saha, Makelle and more have all made big impacts in this country so I don't think there is much of a problem. Admittedly there are others (Boumsong being the obvious one) who have struggled badly and even some of the ones who have done well have had their strops but to stay away from them just because of this seems wrong to me. I would have thought you must have at least a 50:50 chance of a French player coming over and doing well as long as you go for the right one (it's more a scouting issue for me). The French probably have been the biggest success in terms of overseas players in the Premiership whereas Spanish, Itallians, South Americans and Germans have made very little impact (with a few ecceptions aside). sammynb 3640
Get some germans in i reckon I've often wondered why there aren't more Germans playing in England. It's not as if they'd have trouble adapting. They like beer. They like sausages. They have a thing for golden showers. And everyone loves Dad's army and Hogan's heroes. Maybe it's like any creative, who are moody, lazy and tempermental types but inclined to offer up a moment or two of magic until someone drives it out of them with a regimented plan. Not really German or English traits I suppose.
