Well we don't have the most barren trophy room in the Premiership do we? (even if you just count the Premiership - I know it's not much, but still <_<)

But even if we hadn't we'd still share the equal most empty trophy room in the Premiership with a few clubs.

There's basically 2 sorts of football fans:

1. Glory hunters (I would say these are actually the vast majority of "supporters" in the UK these days, who "support" a club because they win stuff - especially as most very casual fans tend to fall into this category) - these guys are bound to want NUFC to fail, its in their very genes.

2. Genuine fans that support their club through thick and thin - these are also likely to now want NUFC to fail, not so much for the same reasons, but just because we're always in the media and always being portrayed rightly or wrongly as the next big thing.

And I think for both sets there is the possibility that IF someone got things right (at boardroom and pitch level), we actually could be a threat again.

So basically this will just go on and on and on, until we either do get relegated or we win something.

6th Most successful club in FA Cup history tbh.

Aye, but history doesn't count.

Imagine in the mind of a 15 year old Man U/Arsenal/Chelsea gloryhunter from Kent, they don't even remember anyone but ManUre, Arsenal and more recently Chelski even winning the Premiership and same with the FA cup (although you can at least add Liverpool to that).

Third best arm-wrestler in Belgiumtastic!

:nufc:

6 time winners, 7 times runners up.

I love how the failure rate outdoes the success rate, Toontastic! <_<

I'd like to say a big thnk you to all the cock ends who stand outside SJP and gurn to the SKY cameras everytime something kicks off at the club. Well done you muppets, you're to blame for this.

It seems like this is always the case. Yet when 'tv' interview folk outside Anfield or Old Trafford, they manage to speak to people far removed from the brain-dead chavs they get at SJP.

1) They think they are going to win something - Hmm, not for a while like

2) They think Kevin Keagan will help them win something - Not impossible long term but who knows

3) They think they are a big club despite the most barren trophyroom in the premiership - One of the bigger clubs and have won more than many (just not for a fucking long time)

4) They think Mike Ashley is in it for the club rather than to stoke his ego - Neither, he is in it as a source of enjoyment though if his ego is "stoked" by something good happening thats good for me

5) They think Shearer will become some sort of Messiah - will he bollocks <_<

and some people think Mike Ashley is going to restore all the glory trophy winning years that Shepherd [and Hall] brought to an end.

Lets hope we aren't trying to emulate the first division title success next season

I was happy with the appointment of Keegan (heart ruling the head perhaps) but other than that I haven't seen a lot from the current board that is worth singing and dacning about. This summer is the litmus test for me though. Shepherd would have been slated for some of the things the new regime has done however.

I must say I like the lack of newspaper reports coming from our current board.

Shepherd would have deffo taken the flak for us not signing anyone during January, but we completely believe (quite rightly imo) that it was Keegan's call during this window.

To me Shepherd had a big gob that he put his foot in but it was only ever a 'big issue', if you like, when the club were struggling on the pitch. I agree Mort is less likely to come out with embarrassing statements but I reckon Shepherd would have been criticised heavily for loads of things - e.g. sacking a manager in the middle of a transfer window, sacking the manager so early, going for Redknapp, not spending in January (fairly or unfairly), appointing Wise as DoF, the relatively low net spend in the summer, etc.
