Guest alex
I think Shearer is 2nd on the list of post-war scorers in the English top-flight (after Greaves). Not too shabby like.
Kid Dynamite 7318
Hopefully ou talk with Owen will go something like this ''So you have been injured pretty much constantly, Capello doesnt fancy the look of you, you have been shit for us the last 10 games and nee decent club in their right mind wants to sign you. You can take £50k pw or fuck off michael!''
Tooj 17
He made 7th his own this week... 1 Alan Shearer 261 2 Andy Cole 187 3 Thierry Henry 174 4 Robbie Fowler 161 5 Les Ferdinand 150 6 Teddy Sheringham 147 7 Michael Owen[63] 129 8 Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink 128 Where do you reckon he'll finish? Struggle to break into the top 3 I reckon. Feasible for him to get to second. Shearer's record is unbelievable like. QFT. Obviously it would be a revolting thought, but can you imagine what it'd have been if he'd gone to Man U and avoided injury? Too slow Samuel. tinofbeans 91
I think we still need another striker and he'll never be the player he was before the World Cup injury. But if we can negotiate a more sensible salary (can't see anywhere matching anything like what he's on now - even factoring in a Bosman / signing-on fee) he's worth having around. He isn't worth building the team around getting the best out of him though, a trap we fell into with Shearer near the end of his career I feel. to be fair that same side came 3rd 4th and 5th.... i see your point though, he does score goals and his build up play is better than previously. but he is so very fragile. and slightly past it. Happy Face 29
He'll be rewarded with an extra £10K for actually managing 10 consecutive games.
