did you see that programme that was supposed to be a comparison of the 1955 cup final and the 07 cup final? The football was shit!

in both finals...

seriously though I don't think this is a good thing. It does favour the big clubs, they can bring on internationals with the ability to change the game, wheras the smaller squads will struggle to have 19 premiership standard players.

You can still only change 3. If you can't keep 3 international subs fit that between them are good enough to cover each position you shouldn't be in the premiership.

Arsenal could feasibly have a bench which could account for numerous tactical reshuffles to counter any number of possibilities, without surrendering a single ounce of quality. But Derby would struggle to have players good enough to sit on their bench, so quite how they'll benefit from having more average players on their bench is beyond me.

I honestly see the bigger clubs padding their bench with more and more high quality players, we'll see more rotation and we'll see a bigger gap between the haves and have nots

7 give you more options and therefore the bigger clubs with bigger squads have more options. Did that really need explaining. And how 3 subs are meant to cover 11 positions adequately or as well as 7 is beyond me.

Every single move now by governing bodies will be to protect the franchise of the 'bigger clubs'.

Why not make it 11 then, one for each position. We can call them specialists, and name them things like OFFENCIVE LEFT and DEFENCE CENTRAL and SPECIAL TEAM KICKER. Fucking hell man, if you need 7 options to beat the opposition you aren't much cop as a manager are you?

I said it favoured big clubs, you said it didn't. Nice attempt at changing the subject though.

Big clubs with shit managers. Souness could have an entire WC squad and 11 changes, he still wouldn't beat ferguson with 3. It's a non issue.
