Fop 1 Posted February 5, 2008 Share Posted February 5, 2008 KEVIN Keegan admits that he will give it his all to persuade Charles N'Zogbia that his future lies on Tyneside. The 21-year-old was subject of a rumoured deadline day approach from Tottenham Hotspur but any such offer would've certainly been rebuffed by the Magpies. However, Keegan says that he will still fight all the way to keep the talented French winger at St.James' Park ahead of next season. "Charles came to see me about all the speculation, and I very honestly said 'I've had no inquiries about you'," explained the Toon boss. "He's just signed a new contract here, but it's something we'll have to revisit again in the summer, because the signs are that he's not that happy here. "But this is a big club, and we've got two or three months to work with him." Keegan again asked the former Le Havre youngster to fill-in at left-back during Sunday's derby draw with Middlesbrough. And the Magpie chief has been delighted with the attitude of the France under-21 starlet, adding: "I thought he did very well again playing at left-back. "I'm not saying it's his best position, but he's a gem of a lad. He never complains at all. "He can play in midfield and left-back, but his best position is definitely on the left of a midfield four and bombing on." In all honesty who can blame him. Me. I like him and rate him but he's just another player who's done fuck all and thinks he should be playing for Man Utd or somebody. Aye, another Le Sulk to be honest. Nope, although I wouldn't have paid £15m for him now either. Good player, finally seems to have gotten over his attitude problem, but he definitely had one (and isn't currently worth £15m). He deserves a few games at left back did alright last year iirc. He is a centre back though. Been on the bench recently. Was Enrique injured on Sun by the way? Enrique shown on .com as being available for Spain thsi week which should hopefully mean he could play at Villa. If not and with Zog being suspended, could be Carr and Beye as fullbacks? He should be made aware that he's our first choice at Left wing, or at the very least he's our attacking central midfielder. He's shown more invention and direction than anyone else other than Milner. Papa Lazaru 0 Posted February 6, 2008 Share Posted February 6, 2008 I think Keegan will be the right manager for N'Zogbia and hopefully he will get a settled run in an attacking footballing side in 1 position so we can finally see the very best of him from next season. I've always liked him as a player since he arrived here, but there has obviously been the odd problem, occasionally from his side but not helped by previous managers as well. He's what 22 or 23? how many other young men "need" to have their monther and sister with them? If they have sparking careers as city traders then fair enough they have to live in london (yeah, right) but WTF has that got to do with him? Also would it prevent him going to Madrid or Milan?
