The pair, both 17, have penned four-and-a-half-year deals at St.James' Park and are part of the club's new recruitment drive aimed at bringing the best young talent from across the globe to Tyneside. Sweden under-17 international Soderberg joins from BK Haken and he spoke to nufc.co.uk after completing his move. "I am really looking forward to signing for Newcastle and the challenge that lies ahead. "There are lots of great players at this club and I hope that I can learn from the likes of Shay Given." Italy under-18 star Zamblera signs from Atalanta and he told nufc.co.uk: "Newcastle is a very big club and it has a very impressive stadium. "There are lots of very good strikers at this club and I know there are famous names such as Michael Owen and Mark Viduka. "I can also remember Oba Martins and Emre from when they played in Italy." I'm all for this Gang of Three, btw, but we (NUFC) must set up a decent network to spot the local talent as well, and make sure NUFC are the foremost attraction for the local lads to go to. True, but 15 stone of solid lard at 11 years old living on a diet of McDs and chicken nuggets probably isn't going to create a whole lot of British talent in this generation.
