the only two of allardyces signings that i'm convinced about so far, beye looked dodgy to start with, but really impressed me since october and i think faye should be first choice cb with . does anyone know if they are now available for selection sunday?

It will be interesting to see if the usual shit about 'needing a rest' will spout forth.

They should be match fit and the time difference is nothing special.

Might notice a couple of degrees temperature change though. Just a couple :razz:B):brrr:

I reckon they'll catch the plane to the Bahamas. [bymistake/]

I've been impressed with Beye so far for us and wondered what you all think. Glad he's coming back.

2 of about 6 players Keegan will be happy to have at the club, I would say

Thats all.

You can add Oba to that list...Nigeria out.

Loathe as I am to repeat myself...

Martins is still our top scorer this season, he's got a goals to games percentage of 44% which compares favourably to next highest scorers Viduka (38%) and Owen (30%). Those two have only played a couple of games less than him too, so match fitness doesn't come into it.

Martins was also Newcastle's top scorer last season. Over the entire season his goals to games percentage was 40%.

We've scored just once without Martins in the team ALL season. None prior to yesterday.

Martins is second only to Emre (who got another one yesterday for all the Emre naysayers out there) in terms of assists.

Gemmill can slate him all he wants, and I agree he's frustratingly poor at times, but he's been a big miss and will be a welcome return.

Frustratingly poor most of the time. Who knows, maybe Keegan can do something with him. Won't be holding my breath though.

Perhaps you're right.

Stats mean fuck all.

Viduka's scored more goals per minute and Geremi has just as many assists.

I think Martins has been a big miss. That says as much about the other forwards as it does him though. He's not good enough either imo but he's the only one who offers us pace upfront. Owen, despite his goal, isn't even a shadow of his former self (even allowing for being out of form, lack of service and so on).

How weak was that shot at Mark Swatatitlikeaflyzer yesterday?

I thought we had Mr Burns playing up front for us

Owen never was one for thumping them in from outside the box though. When someone like Emre can place balls in the box for him to run on to I reckon he can still score.

Heck, he had the ball in the net 3 times yesterday.

We've got Martins who has all the physical attributes, but can be seriously lacking in the footballing brain and brain/body link (without his raw pace and athleticism there wouldn't be an awful lot left to his game).

And Owen who has the footballing brain and the the quality to regularly finish, but whose body seems to be going the way of the knackers yard.

Woodgate and Bramble all over again.

Give Owen good enough service and he'll score (and score a lot more than Martins IMO), but with shitty service I guess Martins is more likely to conjure the odd more solo effort.

Beye and Feye will make a heck of a difference. I'd stick Feye as the DM.

Problem is that he's the best centre-half too. We should clone him.
