Should this go ahead, I'd struggle to be impressed but Id also struggle to be a huge critic of the move given I know nothing of his ability in that field. Sounds like he isnt into the management side at all but is into the behind the scenes "stuff". Who knows.

In fairness, I dont give a fuck providing his unknown behind the scenes skills are any good. I'm not saying I think its a good move or not, Im just not going to go all "EE man Ee kannit come here amn !!!!111 FFS !"

Did Keegan pick Wise for England?

Yeah, but that's no excuse. You don't get Graham Taylor lamenting the fact that Carlton Palmer isn't in a more high profile position anywhere.

Yeah, I was just wondering where the connection was from though.

Broke his own team mates jaw in a proven unprovoked attack. Not really the actions of someone I want to be overseeing our whole club

If they don't fear you, they don't respect you.

Wise set for Newcastle position

Leeds United have agreed to let manager Dennis Wise join Newcastle in an as yet unspecified role.

Wise will join the Magpies on Tuesday and will work under Kevin Keegan, who returned for a second spell as Magpies manager earlier this month.

A club statement said: "We have agreed a compensation package with Newcastle for the services of Dennis Wise.

"He will part with the club on Tuesday after completing preparations for the game at Southend on Tuesday."

The statement added: "Newcastle had approached us for permission to speak with Dennis on Friday and since then things have happened very quickly.

Newcastle great Alan Shearer held talks with Keegan last week but has made it clear he will not return to St James' Park as his number two.

Wise played for England under Keegan and has enhanced his standing at Leeds.

The 41-year-old has guided his team into play-off contention in League One despite them starting the season on minus 15 points.

That penalty followed their going into administration last season and being relegated, and money remains tight at Elland Road.

Keegan himself would not be drawn on the subject of Wise at a Newcastle media briefing on Monday.

"Obviously, there are going to be some moves at this club, but I think the chairman (Chris Mort) has really got to come out and say what that's all about later this week."

It is the second time this season that Leeds chairman Ken Bates has lost a member of his managerial team to a Premier League club.

Bates lost assistant manager Gus Poyet to Tottenham earlier in the season.

Confirmed.
