MICAH Richards wants a record-breaking £75,000-a-week to stay at Manchester City.

The England defender, 19, has stunned Eastlands chiefs with his massive wage demands – £25,000 more than skipper Richard Dunne earns.

But City will refuse to make Richards the club’s top earner and will offer him a take-it-or-leave-it £50,000 when pay talks continue with his dad, Lincoln, on Friday.

The young England star is demanding a massive club-record £75,000-a-week deal to stay at Eastlands – but City WON’T go anywhere near that.

City originally offered Richards, 19, a double-your-money deal back in November which would have rocketed his wages to £45,000-a-week.

It’s frustrating to hear people talk about my contract and ask if the reason I haven’t signed yet is because I’m being greedy when they don’t know the facts Micah Richards

But so far Richards hasn’t agreed to put pen to paper after quitting management company SEM and putting his dad, Lincoln, in charge of his financial affairs.

Lincoln has told City he believes his talented son is worth £75,000-a-week – but the club have a strict £50,000 ceiling.

Crunch talks are now scheduled for Friday when the club’s money men will slap their final offer on the table, which will be a £5,000-a-week increase taking the deal to the City limit.

Richards still has two-and-a-half years left to run on his existing contract so the club have no need to hit the panic button.

And if the worse case scenario happened – and Richards’ family dug their heels in – then City would brave it out and reluctantly cash in to the tune of £25million.

It is felt within City circles that Sven Goran Eriksson’s elite scouting team would quickly be able to find a high-class replacement for less than half of any transfer fee they would collect.

Richards himself said: “It’s frustrating to hear people talk about my contract and ask if the reason I haven’t signed yet is because I’m being greedy when they don’t know the facts.

“I have still got two-and-a-half years on my current deal. It’s not as though I’m in my last year or six months. There has been speculation linking me with a move to join Kevin Keegan at Newcastle.

“But I just don’t know where that has come from. There’s nothing in it.”

Team-mate and skipper Richard Dunne is waiting to see developments over Richards’ new contract.

Dunne has 18 months left on his current £28,000-a-week deal and is anxious to see what kind of settlement is reached, if any, before he makes his demands.

Meanwhile, boss Sven Goran Eriksson will order his Manchester City stars to win him his dream of sitting in the dug out at Wembley.

The former England boss was robbed of his lifelong ambition by go-slow builders whose failure to meet deadlines meant that a friendly earmarked for the new stadium was shelved.

But Eriksson said: “Just the word Wembley is football history and for me it’s unfinished business because I have never managed there.

“The plans initially were for a friendly game before the World Cup but there was a year’s delay and it was never played.

“I have already spoken to the players about Wembley before we played West Ham. If you play an FA Cup Final you are in the history of English football.

“We are taking the FA Cup very seriously. I will select my best possible team for Sunday. No doubt about that.”

Eriksson will welcome back teenage striker Daniel Sturridge after six months out with a hip injury suffered playing for England Under-19s.

Join the club

Fuck, what day is it? :icon_lol:

Citeh are offering him 47k, but he wants 55. He can use our offer as a bargaining tool even if he has no intention of coming here.

Had to pull his car over and everything I heard while hearing such an offer, he just couldn't believe it.
