muthaf***in toon lover 0
I'm a generally all round cynical bastard and I can't figure out what the catch is with these new mobile phone tariffs. For example - a guy at my work pays £4.99 per month and gets a motorola razr and free minutes and texts. He has to pay £30 per month but gets a refund cheque for all but £14.97 each quarter. He has to pay the full £30 in month 12. As far as he says, it's a 12 month contract so at the end of the year he has paid £84.89 in total. Yet he has had free calls and a new phone. This doesn't make sense to me. Where are these companies making the money, or has he just signed his soul away or something. I hope it's the latter, because he's a cunt. But like you say, some deals sound just too good to be true, im very sceptical about it all.
Renton 22766
Mine keep ringing me, giving me a cheaper rate every 6 months without any loss of free minutes or texts. It's just to keep me loyal. It means my handset is 2 years old now, but it's been my favourite anyway. So cheap I may as well give up my landline, tbh. They tell you you get cashback. To do this you need to send in 12 months worth of bills. They gamble on the fact that you wont be bothered to do so 90% dont. The network also offers a half price line rental deal which makes the 2 ffers together a good deal. Just depends what you want to use your fone for and which network you are going on. Lou 0
I got a fairly similar deal, specifically for students, from The Link the other week. If all goes to plan, I'll have ended up spending £4 a month (and that's only because I wanted a text bundle... or else it'd have been £0). I have 30 days after getting my 6-month bill in which to apply for my money back. I guess they just hope that students will have lost track of their bills by then. You have to send them your first and sixth bill. To be honest, I almost lost my first one after I got it... so I can see that not many ppl would do this! Although... we're students... we like being given money. It's a deal done by The Link, not by the network..... who apparently pay the link for selling phones on their network... so somehow the link still make money out of it. I got a really nice phone outta it too. Which is nice.
