snakehips 0
I was in a hotel in India on Wednesday night and a little worse for wear, shall we say . I got a text saying Keegan had been given the job and my initial gut reaction was 'GET FUCKIN' IN!'. Since then, I've been giving the story a bit more thought - as I guess we all have - and the overwhelming thing for me is the fact that when Keegan was manager I couldn't wait to go to the match. Since he left, an incredible amount of apathy has come into my attending the games which just shows that something was wrong. As well as the fantastic games we had under Keegan, there was also a bit of dross (A home game against Leicester springs immediately to mind) along the way proving the point that life was not all a bed of roses whilst Keegan was manager. However, if you all think back, you too must surely recall the completely different emotions prior to nearly every game we played, opposed to the feelings you've had since (although under Robson we did have a wee bit of excitement). So, it's a 'yes' from me. Of course there's no guarantee that things wont go pear-shaped (as there's no guarantee that any other manager would have been a success) but at least we all know that Newcastle United are going to take to the field trying to take the opposition on and not just going out to avoid defeat. Oh, and for those who think this should have been in the other thread - fuck off! I'm Snakehips (aka Spartacus) and I'll do what I like!!
MattM4 0
I think it's safe to say a lot of people have done the whole 360° on this. I know I have. - Get the fuck in Keegan is back, wow! - But is this really right? - Hell yeah!

The only home games we had against Leicester were the 7-1 when we were 6-0 up at half time, a 3-1 home win when we were class and Albert scored a belta, and that amazing 4-3 when Shearer got a hattrick. I think you're on about Ipswich, one of the worst games I've ever seen, Ipswich were as bad as I've ever seen a Premiership team, their tactic was 10-0-0, 0-0 fuck all happened then Cole scored his last goal for the toon, then they decided to attack in the last minute and with their only shot fucking scored, what a shit game that was, you couldn't have been on about Leicester though. It's a decent post this though, and I agree with what you say, but it won't stop me losing all sense of reality tomorrow getting mortal before the game and singing my heart out for the lads. Fantasy is better than reality, and if and when reality bites, I'll stop dreaming.

Anyone who gets themselves hospitalised due to excessive drinking - in celebration or not - is a prick. So yeh. Fact is it wastes the NHS' time when they could be seeing people who's illness is not self inflicted.

I'm willing to bet he's talking about the home game with Birmingham in the promotion season when we were being seriously fucked over and rescued a point late on thanks to Andy Cole. Nar, it wasn't the Brum game. I'm 100% sure of that. Stevie has put some doubt into my mind but I am still fairly sure it was a Leicester game at SJP. Confused. Maybe it was a 1-1 or summat ???
