how can i reply to a post?

I untick the 'quote box' but the previous post is still quoted and I need to manually delete it from my post.

 

Not exactly life or death I know but somewhat annoying!

Hit either 'Fast Reply' or 'Add Reply' at the foot of the page.

 

Hitting 'Quote' allows you to select whether or not you want to include that particular message before you hit 'Add Reply' (the advantage being that you can select to quote multiple messages).

 

Hitting 'Reply' replies to the message quoting the original message. It does take some getting used to, but the ability to quote selected messages appeals to some.
