spongebob toonpants 4182
Ok, putting aside the likelihood of these carachters arriving, where do we all stand on the various contenders real or imaginary. imo Houllier too old too boring likely a disaster Deschamps I have no idea if he is any good or not, no excitement at the prospect Van Gaal cunt - no thanks Hughes initially rejected out of hand, now would be very happy Keegan trepidatious but i would love to see it happen Shearer & Keegan the outcome that excites me like a five year old, hilarious magnificent and stupid at the same time Shearer not as risky as people make out, he has enough sense to get the right people in, i would be happy Hitzfeld likely disaster Mourinho ldo Abel Braga lol I am surprised that I seem to not like any foreign coaches (apart from Mourinho) and even moresurprised how keen I am on Hughes
Barney 0
Quite impressed/relieved to see Shearer talking about "surrounding himsilf with experience" or something to that effect. Like Jurgen the German did.

Big TRon 0
Houllier - good choice with reservations if he's past it. Deschamps - no idea Van Gaal - too bigh-headed to come here. Unrealistic Hughes - the best all-rounder Keegan - just no. Shearer & Keegan - wouldn't work together by all accounts Shearer - could do a job but is undermining the new regime. Fuck off. Hitzfeld - not coming. Mourinho - ditto Abel Braga - he's the Brazilian right?

No its the fact that they have their best years behind them, have never managed in England, have no reason to take the job other than money and in the case of van gaal is a cunt. NJS 4442
Shearer & Keegan hilarious magnificent and stupid at the same time Houllier health concerns but acceptable Dechamps looks good instinctively but possibly not enough achieved imo Van Gaal Too long since at a big club therefore questionable desiire? Hughes not ecstatic but happyish Keegan head says no, heart says yes - would probably fail but would be a good ride Shearer & Keegan warming to it - but would like to judge how committed the two of them to the partnership Shearer depends on his "squad" Hitzfeld I trust Isegrim - maybe in the past but now probably not hungry enough Mourinho Would be ecstatic if its possible Abel Braga Fuck off

I've also concerns about Houllier and Deschamps really suiting Newcastle. But I would be happy with giving van Gaal a go. NJS 4442
But I would be happy with giving van Gaal a go. I could be wrong but I just saw him going to Alkmaar as someone throttling back from "big" jobs - going somewhere where limited success would be lauded and an "easy" life. Of course if he said "fuck that, I want this job with all the shit it entails" then I'd be satisfied

IIRC he is a former Alkmaar player (and fan?). The club is also considerable rich and wants to take on the likes of Ajax, PSV and also compete in Europe as good as it can. Tribal 0
Van Gaal would be a top class appointment, won't leave his hometown club, though.
