Tom 14021
Any foreign favourites? A strange one i have discovered is Tusker. It's a Kenyan beer, very crisp/potent. Any opinions?
Jimbo 175
I'm a real ale fan, we've got a great little brewery down this neck of the woods called Adnams, they do a beer call Broadside which is really nice, and a blonde beer called explorer, both are nice but don't travel very well. Guest stevieintoon
I had that Kriek coming back from Euro2000 on the Eurostar, bought 8 bottles and I thought it wouldn't affect me. I was pissed by the time I got to Waterloo what a cracking beer though. Honest if you've never tried give it a gan, lovely stuff, it's red and tastes like a mix of cherries and strawberries, but is a beer.

You can in my sisters local down London, it's well nice. They give you them in funny shaped glasses like shown above about 3/4 of a pint, and it's about £3.50, well worth it though. There's an offie in Jesmond which sells speciality beers from obtuse places, like Keo which is my favourite standard lager. Keo is a Cypriot beer, and this place in Jesmond is the only place I know that sells it. The reason I love Keo is that the 10th one is just as nice as the first if you're hammering it. I'd guess there's a chance you could get Kriek there.

Meenzer 15807
"I beg your pardon, I never promised you a Hoegaarden. " what song is that? Lynn Anderson-tastic! Well if bloody Hoegaarden qualifies as an "unusual" beer then I'm going to make a case for Leffe, too. Not the Blonde variety that's all over the place now, though, but the Brune and Radieuse variants. Lovely stuff both.

Guest alex
Hoegaarden, quality beer with a light taste to match. Brought at the Belgium Beer Cafe here in Perth, i currently have a cartoon around the house in which i will consume within the next 2 weeks. I've been there. Me and wor lass got mortal and ate chips and mayonaise. Tres continental. Some other nice beers are: Elephant Beer (made by Carlsberg but actually tastes nice), Sierra Nevada Pale Ale (made by Americans but actually tastes nice), Goose Island Pale Ale (ditto), Coopers Sparkling and Coopers Pale Ale (made by Australians but actually tastes nice), Paulsanger Oktoberfest, Duvel, London Pride (not that unusal), Grimbergen Blond, off the top of my head. Most of which are to a lesser or greater degree 'rocket fuel'. Edited January 16, 2008 by alex
