sweetleftpeg 0
I see Red Bull have bought SV Austria Salzburg and renamed them "Red Bull Salzburg" and the club now plays in red and white instead of violet. They've also changed the club crest to the Red Bull logo. As you can imagine, the locals aren't happy and there's been a canny bit of trouble, the stadium was apparently given a good hammering at the weekend. Can you imagine if a large company bought us, changed the name, club colours, and the badge to their logo? Madness.
Bizza 105
Christ, Cannit blame the locals for being miffed. Hopefully it's not something that will catch on.

Bombadil 0
I've read that supporters who came to the ground wearing violet shirts and scarves were turned away and told to wear something else, and basically that triggered the crowd trouble. It's absolutely unbelievable and you can't blame the suporters for that. Edited September 20, 2005 by Bombadil
Isegrim 9772
Having the pleasure ( ) to be able to see the Austrian league I can say it's true that they aren't happy there at the moment. Though, our half-blood brothers down in the south have only themselves to blame. The "rebranding" of Salzburg was just the final step after football in Austria already had become just an advertising event anyway.
Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
Dietrich Mateschitz, the bloke who owns Red Bull has more money than he knows what to do with. Last year he bought the Jaguar F1 team and rebranded them as Red Bull Racing, now he has bought out Minardi to run in next years championship as a Red Bull junior team or possibly Red Bull USA with two american drivers. By the way, Paul Stoddart the guy who used to own Minardi is a massive Toon fan and now swimming in cash. Can someone direct him to our boardroom please! The very fact that they haven't gone under during his time at the helm is a miracle. It's the equivalent of managing Gateshead and their current budget whilst playing in the Premiership!! Back to 'Makeshit', any rumour in the fact his next purchase will be Austria itself which will be re-named Red Bull and the national flag changed to blue and silver quarters?? Guest Sima
It was just a throwaway comment tbh. How Stoddart has even put them into a posistion of being an attractive proposition for takeover is nothing short of a miracle. If Dyno-rod don't take us over, may I suggest Black Bullets (can you still get those?) do.
