Many, including myself, said that the sacking of Allardyce now only made sense if we had a replacement lined up, otherwise the timing is godawful, and we'll struggle to find a decent manager.

I fail to see what Liverpool have done wrong like... The owners obviously thought there was a possibility that Rafa might walk if no money was forthcoming so they've looked at possibilities to cover their arse.

 

Klinsmann was out of work so they've not made any illegal approach. The only thing that's questionable is whether they should have publicised the fact. Their decision to do so and if they hadn't and it had leaked out another way, it would probably be more damaging in the long term. Will keep Rafa on his toes too.
