Calderwood agrees new Dons deal

Aberdeen manager Jimmy Calderwood has ended speculation about his future by agreeing a contract extension.

Assistant boss Jimmy Nicholl confirmed to BBC Sport on Monday that he, Calderwood and first-team coach Sandy Clark were happy to sign new deals.

Calderwood had consistently hinted that he could leave if the club did not match his ambitions.

And speculation heightened when three players rejected offers of new contracts with the SPL club.

But, while Barry Nicholson, Chris Clark and Michael Hart looked to accept bigger offers from English clubs, defender Zander Diamond signed a new contract.

And that appears to have gone some way to placating Calderwood.

The management team were presented with new contracts on Saturday.

And the extensions are to be confirmed at a lunchtime media conference.

More bad news, another manager we wont be getting. ;)
