He was supposedly on sabbatical from Freshfields, so when is he planning on returning? Is he actually making any decisions? Did he really know in advance about Sam leaving, or was he just passing on the message? If he is such a top shot lawyer why is Barton still on the books? The whole comment about the speculation being 'tedious' still pisses me off. Is it not the right time with this managerial change, to look for a more comprehensive restructure, and get a proper football minded directing officer in with the proper connections and knowledge, like not sacking managers in January. Perhaps even retire the chairman title, as I think Ashley is the de facto chairman. Bump Mort down to company lawyer and contracts consultant. Do we have a SCOPE smiley please? Are you still happy with Redknapp being approached as our manager or are you going back to the 'they must draw up a list of considered candidates based on their footballing C.V.s which must include winning trophies' stance.
