Jimbo 174
I still rate Burley (having only seen little of him at Southampton though). But thinking about it, imho a Shearer/Burley combination for example could work similar to a Klinsmann/Löw combination did for Germany. Agreed, I've always thought he was a very good coach, although a little too fond for the Buckfast.
Craig 6682
Shearer with an experienced coach to work with him is our best realistic option IMO.
Tribal 0
Shearer would probably bring Mike Newell as his assitant.

sammynb 3353
Both Newell and Burley have been consigned to the managerial scrap heap so chances are they'd look upon the Newcastle no.2 job as being a way back.

spongebob toonpants 3956
Ive got to be honest, and its really quite embarresing, but the thought of Keegan and Shearer does actually make me come over like a five year old on christmas eve. In reality though I have been wondering if a Newell/Shearer partnership might work
Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
Shearer would probably bring Mike Newell as his assitant. I think that is distinctly possible if he gets the managers job. His best friends in football are Newell, Rob Lee, Gary Speed, Neil Ruddock and Tim Flowers. Potential coaching team out of that lot? And what price Keegan or Dalgleish coming back as director of football?

Asprilla 96
Keegan, Robson, Shearer. 3 names that mean something positive around the world connected to our club. We desperately need some positivity to stop us falling further into the shit. Right now, if we can't get Mourinho/Lippi/Deschamps, we should try and restore some badly needed pride to this club because right now, it's fucked. Any combination of the above would give us a lift and that's what we need, regardless of whether David Moyes/Mark Hughes/whoever is 18.4 % better technically....they wouldn't work here.
