i personally think it would be another sideways step and because he's not a big name with a particularly good track record, we are unlikely to be any more patient with him than we were with allardyce.

By welcome do you mean to be pleased with his appointment or support him in the job?

In answer to that (which is what the poll should have really contained):

Pleased with his appointment? NO

Support him in the job? YES (for the time being)

"Helped bring through a number of young players from the club's academy, including Rio Ferdinand, Joe Cole, Michael Carrick and his nephew Frank Lampard"

The idea's growing on me more and more like.

Wasn't a certain Glenn Roeder actually responsible for the youth set up while Harry was in charge at Upton Park??

Will he get the time to implement such changes to enable us to develop players of the calibre?

He'll have to balance that with visible improvement on the field.

Knew I was right about Roeder. Our best Premier league manager after Keegan and Robson.

If we ban Jimbo he might.

It would definitely be a change for the better.

Thats my view too, although there are others I would prefer, I certainly think he's a step forward from Allardyce.
