JawD 99
redknapp would be as underwhelming as the last three appointments. when are we going to stop appointing second rate english managers and get a top foreign coach? Are there any first rate english managers?
Asprilla 96
At least if 'arry stays in Poole it will seem like home games are away games....maybe he should move the players down there too...!
Bombadil 0
I'm not going to be optimistic for the sake of it, what's the point? Nothing will change if Redknapp is appointed, nothing. After the usual honeymoon period that comes with a new manager we will be back to square one, and that's because Redknapp is just another mediocre journeyman manager. I think even Shepherd would have tried harder than that.
Big TRon 0
Arry smacks of a Keegan type appointment to bring back the feelgood factor. That's ok, but at the top level it will only get you so far. It will be interesting to see how he does now he's getting his big chance. Allardyce fucked up royally when he was given it, but you never know, Arry just might have the right personality for the toon.
Scottish Mag 3
-He may bring Tony Adams with him, who seems like an excellent defensive coach. Never mind Tony Adams hopefully he would bring Joe Jordan with him...

Sima 0
Looking at Portsmouth's home record actually weirdly gives Redknapp credit. Teams used to go to Fratton Park playing adventurous football and thinking they could easily take three points. Nowadays they know how dangerous they are and are going there to claim a point. Unfortunately Portsmouth don't seem to have the attacking creativity and nous to break teams with that gameplan down, hence the drought.
luckyluke 2
I know we all should be positive but it really is rather difficult. In terms of what Redknapp has achieved he's pretty similar to Souness/Roeder/Allardyce. That old saying comes to mind, that definition of insanity is repeating the same course of action and expecting different results.. As for this "but he plays nice football" line is only being trotted out because of the shite served up under Sam. The "nice football" has never really got Redknapp anywhere. If that's the positive point to this appointment then its definitely the wrong one.... We need 'results' NOT necessarily 'nice football'... Well apparently Ashley sacked Sam for his style of football, can't be any other rational reason.
