Maestro7 0
Now that we have got rid of the "clueless" numpty that was BSA we can collectivly move on strong from this. I think the albeit short tenure of BSA has opened alot of geordies eyes to a few underlying issues. Firstly just how split we are amongst the terraces. We all want to see our club do well but first and foremost play attractive football and shed the "Mug" tag over our heads and regain the "entertainers" tag for which we have come to know our football. Sadly since the departure of KK and the brief spell of entertainment under SBR we have been forced to watch negative, frustrating and at times down right baffling teams walk out onto the pitch. When we look back to the times of the likes of Dagleish and Gullit and to some extent Souness it wasnt so bad compared to the awful football we were subjected to under BSA! At least we had 11 players in their favoured positions 90% of the time. I just think we can all look forward to the rest of the season now instead of second guessin our line up and essentially the losing outcome on a saturday evening. Who ever we bring in will be of substancial quality i think, ashley has heard the fans when he has been in the barracks and he knows we want attractive attacking football so id go as far to say i totally put my trust in his and morts hands. At the crossroads now we should take some time to reflect on where we are now compared to where we were 10 years ago and realise we are not the force we once were. Lower our expectations and put some faith and patience in the guy we get in. We can only move forward now and put this well and truelly behind us and watch re-emergance of the entertainers!! Come on boys!! Edited January 10, 2008 by Maestro7

To be honest the last three managers have shown us that lowering our expectations doesn't do the club any good. The club needs to raise its game and appoint the right manager, give them the support they need in both backroom staff and playing staff. For too long we've watched the club spunk away money on and for those not good enough. Trophy signings aren't the way but neither is half baked ideas of prozone and Terry Mac. We as fans know it's going to take time, even the most anti Allardyce supporter knew that and the right manager will get everything they deserve from the fans. Give a little and you will get a lot. Expectations kill this club. Plenty said a mid-table finish (never mind mid-season) would make them more than happy after Roeder, yet Allerdyce was being barracked well before Christmas for less than that. It's probably true that the biggest advantage Shearer would have managerially at Newcastle would be that he would be given 6 months longer than most anyone else. Whoever gets the job still needs to re-rebuild the team one way or another (likely not possible till the summer now), possibly will have to re-rebuild the backroom staff, and all whilst playing attractive attacking football and qualifying for Europe (ok they might get away with not qualifying for Europe this season - but certainly next). I can't imagine why any manager would be mental enough to take the job.... in fact anyone daft enough to take the job is likely not capable of doing the job. Because they're so unrealistic it's laughable? What? That we want to see our manager improving the team both on and off the field? That we want the club to promote football and not fucking prozone? What crap skol, the supporters expectations aren't laughable. They are already quite low and for all our hope that Mort and Ashley could sign someone like Mourinho, realistically we all know it's not likely. So how about you give others some credit that they're not all screaming chavs calling out Shearer or Jose's names? It's interesting, don't you think, that those that don't even living the same country can't understand football or have realistic expectations, isn't it?
