Gemmill 44106
Brazil have beaten Chile the last 7 times they've played, scoring 26 goals and conceding only 3. So that 4-0 mightn't be a bad shout.

I backed japan to win too

Meenzer 15347
Anyone got any thoughts about the Open? Paddy Power (and others, I imagine) are paying out down to 7th place for each-way bets. http://www.paddypower.com/bet/golf/open-championship Hard to resist Gay and Slocum, obviously. But seriously , I reckon Steve Stricker might have a decent shout.

Guest Gordon McKeag
Got a tip off someone last night to back Trap 2 in the 604 at Belle Vue, off in 10 mins. Worth a 5a. Backed Braga to beat Celtic tonight, Celtic have looked ok in pre season, but this is exactly the type of game they lose, and Braga's home record last season was 14 1 0, cracking bet at even money. Such an obvious bet I thought. It's not Celtic of 2002 who could probably expect to come second in a CL group I think its better theyre in the Europa League at least they could still be in Europe in the spring, doubtful but at least there's a chance. To be fair another thing about this bet is they had a lot of new faces too which take time to gel.

Guest Gordon McKeag
they're just shite if we're honest, all the previous occasions they've had the likes of Cadette, Di Canio, Larrson, Pierre van Hoijdonk (sp) playing for them and basically carrying the team. Now with all the money troubles them and rangers are buggered pretty much, times have changed and they don't even have a single superstar like above to make them a bit above the average. Agree completely. Their support has been found out as well. I've always said we have a better support than them, we're more loyal and just a more committed support. Celtic have a hardcore of 20000 tops, with a million hangers on (when things are going well) most of whom purely because they're catholic. When they don't win they lose interest and don't go. They had 22,000 at some league games last season. Last night in Braga it was reported they had 150 (ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY) for a Champions League game. 150. To put that in perspective the mackems have 3000 over there for friendlies against Hull and Benfica. Celtic won the European Cup in 1967 one of the greatest achievements in their history, but their support is an incredible myth which has been bought by almost everyone. They had NEVER averaged over 40,000 in their history till 1997, and the stats are out there to prove they've rarely bettered our gates over a season, yet the myth persists they could be some type of Manchester United. The difference with them and Man Utd is one set has an unbelievably committed set of loyal supporters and the other are a myth accentuated by Irish people and a partizan Scottish media. ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY. What happened to the 80000 day trippers in Seville?
Guest alex
The only thing I'd say in defence of that (and I do agree with you in the main Stevie) is that a lot of the matches up there are against shite sides which probably doesn't help the average gates thing. None of the teams in the SPL are smaller clubs or worse than the likes of Scunthorpe and Doncaster. Not saying they are. Like I said, I mainly agree but I think it's inevitable you get less interest in a match against St. Mirren, for example, than against even the two 'big' Ebo clubs, let alone an Old Firm game. I do think their 'legendary' support is just that though. A bit like the other team that likes to sing 'You'll Never Walk Alone' funnily enough.
