Big Sam - I won't Quit

Sam Allardyce is confident he can turn around Newcastle's fortunes if he is given enough time.

The Magpies' inconsistency this season has put pressure on Allardyce and speculation suggests club bosses are running out of patience.

However, Allardyce believes it is unfair for people to expect him to deliver results immediately and wants to be given at least three years in the job.

And he insists he will not even contemplate resigning if Newcastle lose to Stoke in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday.

"No. Why should I?" Allardyce told the News of the World.

Big job

"It is 53 years since they won anything domestically here, so it is a big job to turn this club around.

"I said it would take me three to five years - and I have only been here eight months."

Stoke have been in fine form in the Championship in recent weeks and they have been tipped to knock Newcastle out of the cup, but Allardyce feels his side will progress.

He explained: "The whole world thinks we are going to get beaten so we have to go there and use that as a motivational tool.

"We have to accept that pressure but it's in our hands. We can only relieve the pressure by winning."

Fucking spineless cunt just like Souness, waiting for his pay out instead of being man enough to admit he's not up to the task.

i doubt he's going to think that after 8 months in the job tbh and tbf i think it would be wrong if he did. that's the sort of criticism you should level at him if we're in this position after he's been in the job for for a couple of years or more and he's still hanging around like a bad smell.

Agreed. Over reaction and sounding like a broken record tbh.

Honestly man, you're becoming a rambling loon.

Mebeez if Ashley asked him to resign and he refused you could level the Souness accusation at him, but I can't see that happening for a while.

What no Kundera via Seinfeld?

How witty!

To be honest all these years of discussing things with some on here has brought me down to your level. :D

sammy, you are getting a bit frothy these days mate. We know your stance, but every day there's an increased number of swear words in your posts and with the vulgarity comes a lack of sense.

in all seriousness mate you often make decent enough points, but they're getting lost in the middle of your rants.

Im sick of this 3-5 year shit. In 3 years time when we are still shit it will be just 5 years then. What exactly is it we are meant to be doing in 5 years? Won a cup, Top 4 or is Sam expecting a place in the Uefa Cup in 5 years to be a success?

The sad sad thing is, is that we were a better team under Roeder and Souness. They both got worse players to play better, and at least played some semblance of a sensible team/formation. I cant ever remember seeing a side as woeful as the one that played against fulham, derby and wigan. Its a new level of low for us and as much as he claims infallibilty, its one man who picks the team and one man who signed the players in that team

Its amazing how quickly people forget!

Practically every home game under Roeder was either boring as fuck or just plain shite, we were breaking records for not scoring goals at home and people around me in the crowd were just ignoring the game to talk and have a laugh. Under Allardyce we have actually had home games where we've scored 3 goals, a while ago now i know but it happened.

And as for sensible team/formation under Souness you appear to have forgotten the fact he played with a lack of width that makes our current team look like manu, that he started games with four central midfilelders and at least once 4 centrebacks.

They were both worse than Allardyce but as he's the current boss peoples memories seem to blur what went on in the past.

And the fact is Allardyce does need time, if people seriously want him to turn things round, this whole club needs a manager at some point to stay more than 1 season or we'll never get any stability at all and to sack him anytime before the end of this season is ludicrous. Sir Bobby was a top class manager and he took 2 years to get anywhere with this club, why expect a lesser manager in Big Sam to do it in 6 months!!!

However i do think he should be doing better, he is making some stupid mistakes and we do need to see an upturn in the quality of football and cohesion between players as well as players being in position and some bloody creatiity in the team!

bollocks, we were shocking under Souness players out of position or out of the team all together because of his delicate fragile lickle ego, Roeder's team had NO fight, and returned to long ball more often than not.

We're not great at the minute, no where near, but we're no poorer than those showers of shite, the same at worst.

to be fair Jimbo you're rattling on every day like we've dropped three leagues, have sold all our players are raping granmas on the street and playing in red and white.

you're the one over-reacting mate, calling for the managers head months into his reign, bemoaning an away draw when we've been playing with no confidence and the opposition are flying.

I was merely stating we're no worse than we were under Roeder and Souness, despite you and J69's claims to the contrary.
