Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
Legend is a word that is used too often these days, but Sir Bobby Robson is a true LEGEND.
paddy 17
such a shame to see how he is, but the guy still has that sense of humor "it will take me 17 1/2 years to name the players that i have managed, i have the time some of you dont" i'm not ashamed to say that i had a tear in my eye and a lump in my throat as the doctor said Sir Bobby you are a LEGEND i salute you

bawan 0
Fucking living LEGEND, was emotional when at the end of his speech he said "thank you Garry and thank you Sir Alex" and had a lump in his throat and a tear in his eye.

East Stander 0
Such a deserved honour to a true gentleman and legend of the game. Well said Fergie and good to see him willing to abandon his BBC boycott for Sir Bobby. Just watched the re-run and blubbered even more than the first time. Craig 6700
A true legend to the sport and IMO the most deserving football knight of them all (and that's despite my bias). So sad to see him so frail and the surgery has so evidently taken its toll but the twinkle is still in his eye and most definitely will be til the day he pops his clogs. Seems hard to imagine that only 3½ years ago he was commanding the technical area at SJP. I did notice that NUFC didn't get a mention - whether that is to do with the fact that acrimonious way he left is still leaving a bitter taste in his mouth or whether he's just completely forgotten, who knows. I had the tears in my eyes and the lump in my throat and i'm not ashamed to admit it. He may have only been officially connected to NUFC for 5 years but we all know that deep down he is one of us. About time the club game him some proper fucking recognition of it too but no doubt they'll wait until he's no longer here to appreciate it. bassplayerjj 0
lucky enough to be at a charity sports-dinner where he was the guest/speaker. Will live and breathe football until the very day he dies, was fascinating to hear him speak that night and I hope my brain is still as sharp when I'm his age. I've been lucky enough to see him at a talk-in too, at the Federation Brewery. A truly entertaining speaker and a natural on the stage. I reckon he would have chatted all night if we hadn't had an away game the following evening.
The Fish 11030
Genuine ambassador for Football, Sport and for England. p.s. anyone notice the guy right at the beginning when the camera sweeps over the crowd... everybody else is already standing, when he notices, the camera moving towards him... only then does he stand! lazy bugger

Noelie 103
A Man among men. I had gone to SJP with a friend who was going there to get a free blood pressure test that was on offer. As we were leaving Bobby pulled in and got out of his car carrying what looked like a change of clothes. I had the audacity to go up to him and introduce myself much to my friend's chagrin. I started out by saying my mother's family name was Robson, my middle name was Robson, but I doubt we are related. He smiled, stuck his hand out, and asked me where I was from. When I said I was living in California and he said I've been there a few times, lovely sunshine. He asked me if I was going to the match which was that Weds. night and asked if I had tickets. I said I had and we shook hands again and off he went. Sadly, the following Monday was the day he was sacked.

I must be dead inside. Met him at a leeds vs toon reserve match a few years back. Also kicked our ball back when we played on the astro at the riverside in CLS. Guest alex
I thought he was going to lose his train of thought a couple of times but it was a pretty moving occasion. Amazing the respect he has which was obvious by the applause his entrance and speech received. Total legend.
