They had some soundbites from fans this morning. Some of our lot are fucking idiots. "A win on Saturday and everything's okay again". So we're utterly doomed then two results later everything is fine?

Big thumbs down to Chris Moyles and his band of twats for their utterly humourless impressions of Geordies.

It was a very good performance last night after the first 15-20 minutes when we looked shakey as fuck.

Yes they were and are far superior technically to us but by showing greater hunger we earned the right to get into some good positions and put them under a lot of pressure.

For my money we deserved the win, Given had a lot less to do than Almunia.

Obviously the challenge is to keep this going against weaker teams like Birmingham because tbh this should be the way we go out every game. Players tire and there is more addrenalin to keep it up when your playing the likes of Arsenal but if we start a game this way then it puts you on a good footing for the rest of the game and should allow us to use our superior ability than the weaker teams.

I listened to a bit of Chris Moyles, but must have missed that bit. What happened?

EDIT: Good match last night. More of the same, please.

Anyone who listens to Moyles/Radio 1 in general deserves what they get, imo.

Nice avatar, btw, Alex.

Proper album :nufc:

You ever listened to any of the Garpax girl groups? Rev-Lons, Mary Saenz, Beverly Williams, etc?

Nope. Would probably like it if it's along the same lines though. That Phil Spector one reminds me of Xmas as a bairn too.

I'll fix you up with some girl group stuff. It's one of my favourite genres.

Sorry, Wacky!

Perhaps. But he's still a cockend. It was no better on Radio 4 when I switched over, John Humphries is also a twat.

No, you're right. The man is a fucking idiot.

Canny funny when Tracey Emin ripped the piss out of him on 'Have I Got News For You' after he tried to get the better of her.

I have to mention as well, I was pleased to see us playing football and not hoofing the ball up front. Id just like to see us using the width more, esp the right.

Aye, I know what you mean.

My brother and I used to have ps2's on which we used to play Fifa. (stay with me on this one). For those who don't know, you used the circle button for both shoot and for clearance (if you were defending). We called this button the 'Bramble button' as this tended to be what Bramble did when he played for us.

It struck us as funny that once we got rid of him, the button's power was not transferred out of Newcastle with him, but shared amongst the remaining team.

Last night we played without the use of the 'Bramble button'.

Footnote:

Before you all ask, I'm am not on drugs or alcohol. A little sleep deprived maybe.......

Just watched the match repeated on Sky, Thought we were much better again. We played with more dynamism in those 90 minutes than we have done in the previous 7 hours or so of football.

N'Zogbia is most definitely not a left back and if Jose can prove to Sam that he deserves a starting place we'd see more penetration down the left and right (as Milner should switch to the right wing instead of Geremi or Smith)

Beye seemed sharper than he has been, still needs to be more aware of his positions I feel

Milner again looked full of running, but needs to be on the right so we don't lose the impact of a first time cross as he switches feet for the millionth time to get it in on his right boot.

Oba and Smith looked good up front, Oba's first touch seems to be slowly improving and Smith's getting better at holding the ball and linking the midfield and attack.

top marks to the crowd who sang for what seemed like the full 95 minutes.

Andy Gray is a man who needs to be raped with a rhino horn mind....

oh and according to a mate of mine, Chris Moyles is actually frustratingly pleasant "off mic"... despite wanting to dislike him my mate found him quite a nice bloke all told.

I'm sure I read Leazes berating people for saying we're better off without Dyer the other day. :nufc:

Great performance and a great result, but some people will never be happy it seems.

Massive underachiever. He has attributes that should have made him a success, he had small spells where he looked like he might have made it, but then disappeared again, through injury and attitude.

Attitude is the thing with him. After a while you realise with some players, they will just not have the application to be successful, and he fell into that category. Its just as vital as any other attribute.Sometimes you can see straight away or fairly quickly they don't have application, maybe in his case I wanted to believe but in the end realised it just wasn;t going to happen. He should have copied Craig Bellamy for lessons in it.

Our mistake was not replacing him, not in getting rid.
