khay 10
Reports in Spain are claiming that Chelsea already have an agreement in place with Barcelona ace Ronaldinho. It is claimed by leading Spanish daily Marca that The Blues have finalised a deal with the 27-year-old - whose time in Catalunya looks to be drawing to a close. Ronaldinho has long been linked with a switch to Chelsea, with owner Roman Abramovich thought to be a huge fan of the Brazilian. The one-time Manchester United target has been far from at his best this term and has even been dropped to the bench by coach Frank Rijkaard. Previously a cheeky bid from Middlesbrough was the only offer thought to have been lodged, but Chelsea now look on course to land Ronaldinho. Italian giants Milan, who also have a long-standing interest, could mount a late challenge. Pay day The reports state that Ronaldinho will be paid 10million euros (£7.1million) a-year at Stamford Bridge, although the two clubs have not yet agreed a deal. It is believed Chelsea want to take Ronaldinho in January and the player is also keen, but it remains to be seen whether Barcelona could be persuaded to sell him before the summer. khay 10
Ronaldinho deal deniedBrother and agent, Roberto de Assis, says there is no deal with Chelsea. Ronaldinho's brother and agent, Roberto de Assis, has denied having an agreement with Chelsea. It was claimed on Wednesday in Spain's leading papers that a deal between Chelsea and Ronaldinho was in place. However, de Assis has denied that he has had any contact with Chelsea. No deal "I have not received any bids," de Assis told El Mundo. "I cannot receive offers, the one that can is Barca - so ask them." De Assis was speaking as he arrived at Barca's training ground, an excursion that he insists was merely to see his brother, and not club officials. "I have only come to see the family, my brother and have some fun," he continued. On the Chelsea speculation, he stated that he had not heard any such news. "I have not read the newspapers, but for me it is a big surprise because I have not spoken with anyone," he said. Content De Assis insisted that everything was fine with Barcelona and his brother, who is contracted at Camp Nou until 2010. "It is very good, very quiet," he added. "We have a fantastic relationship [with Barca] and a contract until 2010. "However, every Wednesday and Sunday there is another story written and everything in football changes very quickly. "He [Ronaldinho] is a professional who is accustomed to what happens in football. "It is regretful to hear a lot of things that come from people who do not know about the situation. "He is working very hard to return to what he was and you can expect more from him in the future."
