Brock Manson 0
Bono from U2 probably. He can't sing tbh. Coming from you that is probably the best argument for my vote for Bono, you've saved me a lot of time. The man can't hit high notes. He just strains through every song. It's awful. I'd say Zucchero is the best live singer I've ever seen. Amazing voice.

sammynb 3640
Chris Cornell has an amazing voice when he's doing stuff with soundgarden, when he's hanging out with rage against the machine he sucks. Just before my fellow countryman logs on, I'll throw the name Mike Patton up there for a great voice, shame he wastes it screaming such shite in some of his bands. Guest Patrokles
Billy MacKenzie, Marissa Nadler, Judee Sill, Joni Mitchell on the blue album, Nina Simone, Darlene Love, Antony Hegarty, Baby Dee, Marc Almond, Paul Buchanan, Carole King, Elizabeth Fraser, John Grant, Steve Wynn, Dusty Springfield, Scott Walker, Fred Neil, Tim Buckley, Ian McNabb, Joanna Newsom (though not conventionally so), Nico (again, not conventionally so), John Jacob Niles, Shirley Collins, Alan Sparhawk and Mimi Parker, Neko Case, Enrico Caruso, Wim Mertens, Stephin Merritt, Jason Molina, Stuart Staples, David McComb, and Washington Phillips are all fairly noteworthy vocalists, some of whom could lay claim to 'best ever,' but that's really way too subjective to call. A couple are only really good because their voices just work with the lyrics and music. But most have fantastic voices. Some have both. Some people may call for Jacques Brel too, but Scott Walker is far superior, as shown in his Brel covers.

I think hitting the hight notes is one of Bono's strengths but its all down to what sounds right to your ear, its not about specifics, its taste, I love Bono's voice, especially from around the era of The Unforgetable Fire and The Joshua Tree, incredible vocal performances on both albums, but I do believe his voice is no where as good as it used to be. Ive always had a soft spot for danny macnamara from embrace - although perhaps not technical a very good voice

I think on the last two albums he has been trying to extend himself a bit higher with mixed results - nothing wrong with testing yourself but I agree it was probably better in the past. He's probably paying the price for all the gigs they did when they were on the up - he never exactly holds back when singing live.

You are right about Otis and Marvin I am a little older than the average poster on here, but IMO you can't beat a real soul singer.
