Totally agree, he should have gone at the end of the season, it was clear he had lost the plot.

Not sure I was on these boards then, but i distinctly recall being disgusted by the lack of people willing to hang around and applaud for that lap.

 

I was even more disgusted the following year though, when Souness's team got a far politer response from the fans.

i was one of the few on this board that backed robson when shepherd was making a fool of himself with the bambi comments.

 

we'd finished 5th, which was disappointing compared with previous seasons but it was still a relative success. you just have to look where we are now to see that.

 

imagine being so pissed off that we booed the lap of honour because we just missed out on the 4th champions league spot. we'll do well to finish in the top half this year...

if this board is any true relection of general mood among our support i'd say those that wanted robson to stay were in the minority.

That was my impression of the general overall fan view at the time.
