It works on the fact that its totally self aware, which is why most people find it funny. Stuff like Howard asking Vince if he's got his script adds to the better thought out jokes. One thing i can't quite work out is if the bloke playing Naboo isnt' that good and in there because he's Noel's brother or if that delivery is exactly what they want and he's perfect at it, or a bit of both!
