Davies has been in charge at Pride Park for 18 months

Derby manager Billy Davies has left the Premier League strugglers following talks with chairman Adam Pearson.

The club are two points adrift at the foot of the table following a 2-0 defeat by Chelsea on Saturday.

"We have decided mutually in the best interest of both parties that to go our separate ways is the correct decision at this time," said Pearson.

More soon.

If Big Eck leaves the Scotland job perhaps Billy Davies can save us from them appointing Souness... ;)

I dunno if he would be good or not But I think Big Eck is on his way.

Why is defeat at the hands of Chelsea the straw that breaks the camels back for all these clubs? They're not too shabby a team.

Same thing happened to Sammy Lee. Do the chairmen know they're going to get rid but don't want the new man to have a tough first game?

Aye I am not saying he is my first choice but the more options we have other than Souness the better. Unfortunatly its looking like Big Eck is on his way and I honestly think we will end up with the idiot in charge <_<

Surely his departure is as much, if not more to do with the breakdown of his relationship with board and chairman rather than there very predictable league position ??

Probably they know they are going, but for obvious reasons won't sack after a win or even a reasonable draw, and yes it's probably better to sack after a very tough game than right before one.

So who has been sacked/left so far?

Mourinho

Jol

Hutchings

Davies

Bruce

Lee

And Southgate, Allardyce and Benitez all under pressure and looking likely to be next in line. With all the booing and pressure put onto teams and players the Premiership is just one big pantomime now.

When you watch clowns you have the right to boo in my opinion.

I'm glad you pointed out Sammy Lee on your list, Bolton were brave enough to admit they had appointed the wrong man and acted before their season was at the point of no return, shame we aren't brave enough to do the same.

An improvement on Sammy Lee, who had also lost the dressing room in record time, once the dressing room is lost thats it, 13 matches or 13,000, How long before Sam loses the dressing room, if he hasn't already ?

fair enough, perhaps you're right. Do you really think BS shouldnt be given the chance to turn things round though? I mean the lack of patience shwon by newcastle fans in recent years is making us look a laughing stock dont you think?

I'd rather have folk laugh at us for changing manager yet again than laughing at us due to performances like we saw at the weekend, I'm not advocating Allardyce is sacked right now, but I do believe that we should admit that this bloke isn't the manager we all thought he was and start making careful and measured plans as to his replacement.
