To be fair he's been making some shocking decisions that are painstakingly clear to almost everyone but him. He comes across to know what he's talking about but if you take into account that someone like Bobby Robson didn't for half his career it begs the question if it really matters that much. David Kelly 1280 Posted November 26, 2007 Share Posted November 26, 2007 He's clearly made some mistakes particularly in terms of team selections and bumming Smith and Geremi but I do beleive he will get it right although in the next two games it may well get worse before it gets better. We have to get some stability in the club, I admit I was calling for the head of the last two clowns we had in charge but they were clearly awfull appointments from the off. Their records suggested exactly what we were going to get, but SA's record suggests he will get things right. We have to remember that under Robson we had two bottom half of the league finishes before he got it right. In such a short space of time, we've gone a long way (backwards) in an offensive sense from having Robert/Nobby on the wings with Dyer coming from the centre. Zog and Milner have the potential to provide the ammo though, Sam is just not getting us to play that way and seems he'd rather have the likes of Geremi or Smith our wide. I think its dificult to ask much of an improvement from the players when the managerial decisions are making more of an influence on the disapointing results far more so than any short comings from the team, in my opinion. Our gaol against Pompy was an OG, Our goal at the stadium of plight was a fluke, we couldnt break down Derby for fucks sake, our goal at reading was an OG and to top it off we couldnt even get a shot on target, at home against Liverpool. In the past with our shite defences we have at least scored goals but now our defence is shit and our strikers are even shitter. With players like Viduka,Owen,Martins,Barton,Emre,Zog and Milner we should at least look half decent going forward but we look like we dont have a bloody clue and that has to rest firmly at the managers door for wanting to play kick and run Either he can change the tactics to suit the players or he can fuck off either way I`m not that fussed, I just want someone who can play entertaining football and show we are making in roads and have some tactical nouse too Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
