Brede Hangeland is expected to leave Danish champions FC Copenhagen after attracting the attention of several clubs across Europe.

The Norway international has impressed for club and country in recent months and Copenhagen coach Staale Solbakken fears he will be lured away.

"I am certain that Brede will leave, either this winter or in the summer," Solbakken told VG.

"He has been fantastic for us."

Hangeland has been linked with Aston Villa, Newcastle and Manchester City in the past and he admits he would be interested in a move to the Premier League.

But the giant defender would also consider offers from clubs in other countries.

"I hope the right offer comes one day," Hangeland explained.

"It is not necessary that it is in England. There are many good clubs outside Scandinavia

Fulham have signed Norway defender Brede Hangeland from FC Copenhagen for an undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old, who was captain of FK Viking under new Fulham boss Roy Hodgson, has signed a three-and-a-half year contract with the Cottagers.

Hodgson said: "I am delighted to welcome Brede to Fulham and I think he will prove to be a tremendous signing.

"I am of course very familiar with his ability and am confident that he will help our defensive options."
