Losing A Family Member

Me dear old Granda, has been in and out of Hospital for months now.

Just got home from work to find that basically he won't be coming out and there's no chance of him seeing Christmas, for those on here who don't know, he's probably me closest family member, I've always been closer to him than me dad for some reason, especially since we lost me grandma.

In all honesty I'm just absolutely gutted, I know we've been expecting it for ages, but still. :crylaughin::unsure::o :o

Really sorry to hear that pet  Whether you've been expecting it or won't be making it any easier for you at the moment. Just make the most of all the time you can spend with him right now because it'll be a comfort to you later. Chin up :crylaughin:

Echo SLP's sentiments, it does get easier over time but also agree with what Cath says and make sure you make the most of the time you have.

I know it doesn't seem like much consolation but at least you know you have limited time. One of my regrets about when my mam died was that i never got that chance to say goodbye. I saw her the day before her birthday when she was full of the joys of spring and she died 9 days later. In that time I'd only spoken to her on the phone once and, regrettably, it was when I was drunk....

Still got time to make some fantastic memories for yourself Jonny :crylaughin:

Aw Jonny, I feel for you, like Cath said, try and enjoy what time you have left together now. There's nothing anyone can say really, truth is its so painful when you lose someone you love and care about. My mum died suddenly when I was 13, I didnt even have chance to say goodbye....so make the most of your time now.

My thoughts are with you mate. Not that I want to draw attention from your plight but my grandmother has been rather unwell this year, I'm making every effort to see/talk to her at the moment because I know I'd be kicking myself forever if I didn't and something happened soon.

I suggest you follow the advice of others and do the same.

I know everyone takes the piss out of me for it, just a shame as I'd love to be able to sit there and watch The Good, The Bad & The Ugly together with him one last time, that would be brilliant for the both of us, as it's his favourite film as well.

Lucky I'm also sorry to hear that mate. :crylaughin:

I'll shall put TGTBATU on in his honour when I get in after the match tonight.

When my nanna was dying we spent a lot of christmas and new year in hospital with her, as sad a time as it was, I still have more positive memories of that christmas than any other. Make the most of the time left. Leave him in no doubt how you feel about him.

Chin up.
