sweetleftpeg 0
It has become a bit of a jobs for the boys coaching staff. Which might be fun for Souness et al, but it's not exactly helping our players play as a team.
Papa Lazaru 0
Terry Mac- what a load of old bollocks, you could never write propaganda like that, it can only have been written by some expensive PR machine to try and quell further disharmony of the fans when we reach the bottom of the pit on Sunday. It might even be Saturday because the Makems just might win at home and that would leave us bottom, God fecking help us. Why don't you just get off with the rest of the cronies that SOURNESS has brought to this club and hopefully never return. Terry Mac your words are just one big pile of shite. 32636 Correct, it was an embrassing read and could have been condensed into one big picture of somebody kissing Souness arse. And yet again they managed to squeeze a reference to Bellamy in there. But no doubt it'll work on some of the sub 10 IQ fans we have who can't see through this kind of toss and actually let it affect their opinion of Souness killing our football club. LeazesMag 0
Like Keegan, Souness seems to be tactically naive. However, the big difference is that Keegan compensated by spotting a good player more often than not and being a superb motivater and installer of belief. We look more clueless than ever under Souness. Terry Mac may be right that he's a canny bloke, but he doesn't seem to be a very good manager of a football team. 32580 sorry mate, but "tactically naive"...whats it mean exactly ? Eriksson is supposed to be "tactically astute", it usually means defensive if you think about it. It's just a buzz word. The best tactics are the ones Keegan employed, thats why we finished higher in the league than we have done for 70-odd years. It's alright saying we could have closed those games up against Liverpool and Blackburn, but there are plenty of other games where we went for the 2nd goal, got it and sealed the game. At the end of the day, we just weren't quite as good as or at handling the pressure of the run in than manu, but we would have gained from it if Keegan had stayed. Or maybe it was just our glitch, which manu had earlier. Team selections to an extent and subsitutions are tactical changes, sure, Keegans big mistake for me was changing a winning combination ie arsprilla, losing Venisons experience and Fazackerly, tactics I think are basically making changes through the game if isn;t working out for you, but sitting on a lead - never. I understand what you are saying but I think by being positive Keegan was employing the best tactics thats all, which is playing a way that suited his players, not get them to do something they weren't so good at. LeazesMag 0
I am certain that I care more for the club than Souness. Difference is, I'm not getting millions to ruin it. Unbelievable that some people could fall for this sentimental bollocks, but clearly they have. Poor Gwaemme, nearly crying after leading us to a humiliating slaughter at Cardiff. Diddums. 32570 I/m sure you do mate, and so do I. Feel sorry for Souness ? Do I shite, he's a rich man on the back of being a brilliant footballer, getting lucky at winning a shit league with Rangers and masquerading as a manager ever since on the back of it. He may think he is doing it all for the right things or even doing right at all, but that is down to the above, he actually is such a deluded fool thinking he is a good manager at all, I admire him for having the bottle for taking the job on but I still wish he had never came, as for appointing Terry Mac to spin stories for him, it shows how despicable he may well be - as if I needed convincing after the way he has manipulated kicking Bellamy out of the club - and has also ruined any shred of respect and affection I had left for Terry Mac too, following on from the bother we had with him and his son and the academy a few years ago. Guest Sima
Interesting that McDermott mentions a straight swap of Bellamy for Owen. Care to give me the other £11m then? Edited September 15, 2005 by Sima
Papa Lazaru 0
Interesting that McDermott mentions a straight swap of Bellamy for Owen. Care to give me the other £11m then? 33733 Yes, i mean when Souness was kicking Bellamy out the club he knew all along he was directly replacing him with Owen didn't he, it certainly wasn't just an ill thought out childish act! Owen as we all know is Shearer's replacement, a proven world class goal scorer of some repute who has scored at the very highest level consistently and who has the reputation and attitude to lead the line. They aren't identical in style but thats who he's replacing. We don't have Bellamy's replacement yet and as you say if Owen was such then theres about £11m in deficit as well! Its just a desperately sad attempt to justify Souness' actions, oh he got rid of Bellamy but he brought in Owen when the two are entirley separate and have no bearing on each other. If somebody point blank said you can have Owen or Bellamy of course we'd all go for Owen, you'd be insane not to, but that is not the way it was.
