khay 10
Wigan have been fined £20,000 by the Football Association and warned about their future conduct after an incident in their recent 1-0 loss to Newcastle. The Latics players were incensed when referee Steve Bennett awarded Kevin Kilbane a second yellow card following an aerial challenge with Alan Smith. Wigan were subsequently charged with failure to control their players. The Premier League club pleaded guilty to the Football Association charge but submitted mitigating circumstances. Wigan had no right of appeal against Kilbane's dismissal because it came as a consequence of two yellow cards. Latics boss Chris Hutchings said after the match: "I am very disappointed with the decision. I think that the referee made some strange decisions - a few of them went against us." Bennett was due to officiate Wigan's fixture with Liverpool on 29 September but was withdrawn as the charge against the Latics had not been heard. Happy Face 29
Harsh when compared to what Manure and Chelsea appear to get away with. Not suprising when you compare the England Internationals in the teams though.
