Craig 6700
North East soccer legend Bob Moncur has vowed to win his toughest battle ever - after being diagnosed suffering from colon cancer. The former Scotland skipper, who led Sunderland to promotion in 1976 and was captain of Newcastle United in the 1969 Fairs Cup Final - the last trophy the Magpies won - went under the knife this week to have a tumour removed. He is now back at his home in Gateshead, awaiting test results to see what further treatment is needed. Now a football pundit for Century FM, Moncur said: "I know that I am not out of the woods yet, but people should not be surprised to see me at work as usual, albeit I may be walking a little slower than normal." sweetleftpeg 0
My father-in-law getting treated for the same thing. The prospects are good if he's caught it early. Edited October 5, 2007 by sweetleftpeg
