wykikitoon 21681
Hiya guys Some of you wise guys who like changing jobs a lot (Gem) might be able to help me here. I changed jobs at the end of August and was at my new company for a week before I got my P45. I handed this into my new employee as soon as I got it. I have just got my wage slip and the tax code on it is the emergancy tax code. Now, should I have to pay emergancy tax for the full month or just part of it? Lazarus 0
I'm not a tax person but presumably you'll pay emergency tax until they change your code to the correct one. Might take 2 weeks, 2 months or longer.

peasepud 59
Its nowt to do with us, once your employer has the P45 then they should apply the code from that.

Rob W 0
aye - your company should just take the code on the P45 if it was recent of course it means work for them so they often wait until they get an official Notice of Coding TBH I think the revenue are pretty quick with these things
