@HowayI think you're probs right. I think I'm coming at it from the pov of "you can't bankrupt the club, community asset, blah blah", but of course they can.

I think that’s the way a lot are coming at it. Maybe it should be the way you’re saying, I just have no faith that the government give a shit the way they didn’t give a fuck when clubs like Bury and Macclesfield went out of existence. I’m not saying I’m right in anyway btw, I genuinely don’t know if frozen assets are typically sold as that seems more like a stripping of assets to me - so to me that’s a special exception they’re making to attempt to keep Chelsea alive but as people have pointed out that 1.5b loan might kill that.

I thought the bloke was joking about it not being possible but it seems he’s serious . The club own buses, put the players on a bus and go through the channel tunnel, there’s no fucking way that would cost £20k. Could even book them into cheap as fuck hotels or hostels. Of course they can’t do it in a way the players are accustomed to but it’s ridiculous to say it can’t be done, fucking local youth clubs manage trips away to tournaments in Belgium etc.

 Insanity man. If you say there’d be 40 people going, they genuinely think you couldn’t possible manage travel and one night stay for £500 per person? Piece of piss that, especially given I’m fairly sure the club own buses. Must be a fucking nightmare for those saying that trying to plan a holiday.

They've got a £20k limit on costs of travel to their fixtures. So no flying to games and no overnight stays. The fucking bamps.

ROAD TRIP for any remaining CL fixtures this season. Someone better get working on a playlist.

Well if they can’t manage it on £20,000 they’ll just have to forfeit the fixture won’t they? It could have been worse, the other Russian clubs were banned outright.

I must say, I have said for years they should ban clubs flying to internal games.  Long distance fair, but internal, nah.  But a coach to Lillle.  PMSL

Weren't they on the verge of busto when Abramovich turned up? Feels appropriate that his departure should immediately plunge them back in the shit.

John Terry nearly ended up here as they were skint iirc

We had Woodgate at the time didn't we? Some defence that would have been, mind. And both would have been the subject of firesales by their respective clubs.

Can’t quite remember if it was just before that but it was around that time

Pretty shitty kneejerk from 3 that, they knew all along who was running the club, they knew last week that RA was looking to punt it fast because they were chasing him. They've waited until the 13th hour to do it. I still hate Chelsea and their fans though.

Hang on, doesn't that mean new kits without the logo will have to be produced? Extra costs!

I reckon they should make them play in skins. How long before the likes of Mount and James want out of that shambles?

I was just thinking, will they even be able to have attendances at games soon? Stewards are paid by the club I assume, and if so once this £16m of cash on hand they have dries up surely they stewards, and other match day staff stop? Unless of course the match day revenue of the sale of food and drink is allowed to fund those wages? But I thought I remembered seeing those sales went into the pool of frozen assets. What a fucking mess they’re in.

They're allowed to pay their staff including players and are getting in touch with the government for other rules to be bent.

Oh aye, I know they’re allowed to but they only have £16m on hand which won’t last long. Once that dries up what then? Even if they’re allowed to use the revenue from match day concessions to keep paying certain expenses (which I’m not sure they will be) that won’t go far and is dodgy ground if they players and other staff aren’t being paid.
