Anyone know anything about building a home entertainment system?

Currently Ive got the following bits which I want to connect together in a nice hefty all singing all dancing system only trouble is.... I havent got a fucking clue what Im doing!

Sony Bravia LCD Tv

Asus Media PC

PS2

Wii

Bush 5.1 Dolby Surround System

Now the Bravia has more in/outputs than owt else. The surround sound has 5 input jacks of the normal red/white/yellow cable types and the PC has 5 speaker outputs but they are the small PC jack types. Can you get cables that have the different ends on?

Also how the hell can I cable all of the media thingies through the surround sound? is that possible?

the bush system should consist of a amplifier and speakers - yes?

connect everything to the amp and off you go.

you might need a few various cables and stuff to make all fit though

for example: this for the pc to the amp

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PHILIPS-HQ-3-5mm-MIN...1QQcmdZViewItem

and maybe something like this if there are not enough inputs to connect all the stuff to the amp

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/3-RCA-Phono-Splitter...1QQcmdZViewItem

if you can afford though pud, nothing beats a proper separates system, starting with a av amp similar to this:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Yamaha-AV-Amplifier-...1QQcmdZViewItem

then buy some floorstanding front speakers, a centre channel, 2 smaller rear speakers and a sub.

I'm quite happy with my 2 channel setup at the mo though (and will upgrade at some point).

:icon_lol: I had originally entitled the post "FAO Laz" but then changed it!

The 1st and 3rd links dont work though so I havent seen what they are.

I did buy two large floor standing 120w speakers that were being flogged off cheap in Currys last week, down from £120 to £29 quite a bargain I thought and they match exactly with the decor :icon_lol:

So basically I can get leads to plug the PC through the Amp even though theyre different sized connectors? 3.5mm and phono?

fuck me this is a nightmare!

I got an HDMI cable for the PC to LCD and plugged it in now I only get a small centre screen and cant change the screen size (Smart, Wide etc). So I changed it in the PC settings and managed to get 1280x768 but now the edges are off the screen.

Someone please for the love of Allah get this bastard thing working for me!!!!

Dont adjust the screen setting on the tv - leave it to 'auto' or 'normal' and whatever the basic setting is.

What resolutions can your pc graphics display?

I am using 1360x768 on my 32" lcd.
