khay 10
Author Robert Jordan, who was best known for the Wheel of Time series of fantasy novels, has died of a rare blood disease aged 58. Jordan - whose real name was James Oliver Rigney Junior - died at the Medical University of South Carolina. His personal assistant, Maria Simons, said the disease caused the walls of his heart to thicken. Jordan's first fantasy book, The Eye of the World, was published in 1990 and went on to sell millions of copies. He also wrote a trilogy of historical novels set in Charleston under the pen name Reagan O'Neal in the early 1980s. After turning his hand to the Wheel of Time series, he went on to publish 11 books and had been working on the 12th at the time of his death. Jordan's books tell of Rand al'Thor, also known as The Dragon Reborn, who is destined to battle evil in a mythical land. The author is survived by his wife, Harriet McDougal Rigney. khay 10
Wasn't he 11 and a half books through a 12 book series? Yeah, it’s a shame. He was trying to fit everything into the final one he had planned on writing a few more but given the circumstances he was trying to get it finished while he still had a chance. I believe he has told a few close friends how it all ends so I would not be surprised to see something come to light in the next couple of years. I wish his family and friends all the best. Meenzer 15789
Wasn't he 11 and a half books through a 12 book series? Hey, if it's good enough for Beethoven, it's good enough for someone I've never heard of. RIP regardless.
khay 10
With Robert Jordan's death, on September 16, 2007 [3], the future of the series is in question. His cousin Wilson stated in Robert Jordan's blog that the story has gone into either word processor or audio, and that Jordan's wife Harriet and Wilson have now heard the entire story. They plan on publishing Memory of Light per Jordan's wishes. From Wiki. However I have read the blog in question, which was before his death. So I do hope that this gets to see the light of day. I'm currntly re-reading the books, on number 7 at the moment.
