The wife requested 'dance yourself dizzy' by liquid gold from the DJ at our wedding. Make of that what you will.

That’s what they’re performing. I wouldn’t say I really dislike it but it’s ‘mam disco’ if you like. On this particular performance I also liked how the lead singer moves almost exactly like my lass when she’s had too many Proseccos

Actually I just checked and it’s ‘The Night, the Wine and the Roses’. Although it’s virtually indistinguishable from ’Dance Yourself Dizzy’

I re listened to this in midweek. It contains for me the greatest single release of the 1970s. It’s a track that had been rolling around in my head for 40+ years before I heard it again on this pod. It would just periodically wander in and out without me really knowing what it was; just that line… “from here to eternity, that where she takes me…” The legs & co interpretation (that’s them with the tassels :D ) is class too 👌

It’s brilliant for reminding you of little gems you’d forgotten about. I think not least because we’re exactly of the age when TOTP was huge when we were getting into music. Also, as when you rewatch any old episodes, it’s a reminder there was loads of dross in the show. Which they managed to showcase even when there was much better stuff in the charts

Love Bolan. Loved hearing Kulkarni talk about him too 😭

Bolan was great, fucking sad when he died, ironically when he crashed he was on the radio in his car.

and the dashboard, inside of the windscreen and the steering wheel.
