peasepud 59
Four NHS workers have been sacked in Newcastle after using hospital computers to view pornographic images. The disciplinary hearings followed the suspension of nine staff in the summer, after an investigation by the Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. It is believed to centre around the graphic image of an elderly woman, taken from a foreign website. Hospital bosses say the inquiry is ongoing and warn that further disciplinary action is a possibility. The trust manages Newcastle's Freeman Hospital and Royal Victoria Infirmary. A spokeswoman said: "Nine staff were suspended as a consequence of information technology electronic surveillance systems showing cause for concern in respect of unacceptable images and text being received and then conveyed via e-mailing. "To date four staff have been dismissed following disciplinary hearings, the investigation is continuing and further disciplinary action does appear to be an inevitable consequence." She added: "The trust has a zero tolerance policy in relation to obscene and related material that is considered offensive and inappropriate in a healthcare setting." Now Im guessing here but it reads as if someone sent out a jokey email containing a pic (possibly that one with the wrinkly old wife on it) and now loads of them have lost their jobs. In the current climate of NHS constraints and lack of funds I wonder just how much has been spent on carrying out this investigation then the added costs of suspending these people from work on full pay while the investigation goes on. Lunacy tbh

Kid Dynamite 7353
It sounds like someone sent a 'novelty' porn image to some people on the internal email system and those that forwaded it have been sacked. Bit harsh. A lad i work with was stupid enough to send me a load of virals in emails, i nearly died when i opened the first one up and deleted the rest as fast as i could. Was hoping to see some lass hanging over a patient with her Kazongas out Sorry to disappoint The QE thing is based in A&E. I'm hiding through the doors at the bottom of their main corridor in theatre. I do go through there quite often to help out with patients in resus but I've managed to avoid the cameras so far! Park Life 71
When I worked as a hospital porter the only we could really get sacked for was sleeping/sunbathing on the roof. So we kept it to just the 2/3 afternoons a week. Beeper off.
