Dr Kenneth Noisewater 0
Assuming we stick to 4-3-3, how do we fit the players unavailable yesterday into the side? Obviously Given picks himself, but as other midfielders become available is there a chance Geremi will be moved to right-back? Will Taylor make way for Capaca? Once Enrique is fit, where does Zoggy go? Barton? Owen? Duff? Luque!?? If yesterdays performance is anything to go by, it would be harsh to drop any of the midfield or forward players. We'd lose something by shifting Geremi, Butt performs that un-glamorous role well, Milner and Smith worked their bollocks off, Martins scored two and Viduka is the 'point'. ewerk 30167
I reckon Fat Sam may try the revolutionary tactic of picking players based on their form, seems like a strange concept.
Lazarus 0
Ive no idea tbh. but were sounding like that fast show (i think) sketch with the blokes in the pub trying to agree on englands all time best 11 and all they can agree on is banks in goal. Geordie Boyo 24
He says he wants to get a few more players in, so it’s hard to say at this moment in time. Obviously Owen, Martins, Rozehnal, Geremi, Enrique, Given, Taylor, Cacapa, Barton & maybe Butt would be definite starters, which would just leave........one position. You've then got what could be squad players rather than starting every game when everyone’s fit with the likes of Smith, Viduka, Carroll, Ameobi, Luque, Milner, Zoggy, Duff, Emre, Solano?, Carr, Edgar, Huntington, Babayaro, Ramage, Harper & Forster. If BS does get a few more in it could be likely a few might leave considering the size & quality of the squad. Dyer, Nobby, Luque, Carr? Emre? Ramage, Pattison & Babayaro being obvious choices to leave. It's still early days, but either way it's looking good!
jaythesouthernmag 0
If everyone is fit and bang in form, providing the new guys are fitting in this is what I would play ---------------------------Given-------------------------------------------- Capaca----------Taylor--------Rozenhal--------------------Enrique -------------Barton--------Geremi---------------Smith---------------- ---------Owen----------------------------Martins----------------------- -------------------------Viduka------------------------------------------ If we are at home or against a weaker side Against the big boys I would replace Owen or Oba with Butt and play a 4-4-2 and put Duff/Zog and Milner/Nobby on the wings Looking at our options makes me optimistic

I think Taylor wont get as many games as he would like and Cacapa/Rozie will be the centre backs. With new players coming in, there'll possibly be a new right back too. I stilll thinkZoggy/Solano/Milner/Shola will get a load of playing time though.
Papa Lazaru 0
Its great that nobody can really say what our XI would be for certain! And knowing Big Sam it will change depending on home or away, depending on the opposition and will change within games if he's not happy or say wants to close a game out. Geordie Boyo 24
Which ever formation you use you can't help but leave at least one key player out with another two/three players still yet to come in
Shearergol 0
Just take a look at how many players Man United have left out today. No Anderson, Tevez or Hargreaves. That's what we should be aspiring to. I think it's great that we're finally getting a strong squad together. Bring in another right back and we're laughing. Jusoda Kid 1
---------------------------Given-------------------------------------------- Capaca----------Taylor--------Rozenhal-----------Enrique ----------Geremi--------Barton----------Smith---------------- --------------------------Viduka---------------------------------------- ---------Owen----------------------------Martins----------------------- I'd probably play it like this. Barton in the middle as Geremi is probably better at swinging balls in from the right. Viduka holding it up and laying it off for Owen and Martins to use their pace, tbh were spoilt for choice......magic

Mark 0
Given Taylor Cacapa Rozenhal Enrique Geremi Duff Barton Butt Viduka Owen 4-4-2. Why do people think Owen will play right wing? Just because he has/had pace? Owen is a worldclass finisher, so needs to be in the middle, he would be useless on the wing.

I think you're right Doctor, I think I mixed him up with Geremi who can play right back if called upon. He is mostly known as a stopper so I have subsequently edited and changed my suggested line-up.
