Robert Plant & Allison Krauss or Elbow.

That is all.

It is pretty good.

He must have thought Walking Into Clarksdale was canny shite if he felt the urge to re-record his own songs with someone other than Jimmy Page.

The Raising Sand version of Please Read The Letter IS a mile better like.

Dan Le Sac and Scroobius Pip should have been in front of Burial.

Agreed, listened to Burial this morning on the way to work, was interesting but fairly basic stuff.

Late of the Pier

I didn't really love either of them, but that's about it for me and British music this year.

Not one of them has odds as long as the one in 12 chance they have.

Bloody bookies.

I know it's an overused word but it really is such a pretentious award.

I think it walks the line well. No-one could call those first 5 nominations SloopJohn-like in ther pretension.

 I just meant the idea behind the award itself. The nominess and winners are often pretty mainstream really.

Anthony and Alistair from Sweet Billy Pilgrim currently play in The Boy Least Likely To's touring band, and Anthony's playing is featured on both The Boy Least Likely To albums.

So at least one of my picks is tenuously associated to a nominee.

Which five?

Florence and the Machine

Kasabian

Bat for Lashes

La Roux

Glasvegas

If they haven't all had a number one, they've had a top ten....and will be getting Brit award nominations.
