(News of the World) Kieron Dyer's move to West Ham fell through because Newcastle were unhappy the Hammers were "boasting" the sale had gone through. (Sunday Express) Those two make little sense. Why would be buy Smith only to sell Martins? And more likely Dyer's deal fell though for the reason mentioned in the other thread (or some other technical financial issue between clubs/agents). I agree would be silly to sell martins now. ESpecially as BS was talking about his versatility and sounds like he won't play much as a striker for us and one more thing, if we have a financial crisis then we would have sold dyer for 6million (2 million of his loyalty shite). Good that he stood firm though
ewerk 31600
It's unbelievable how some people will believe anything they read, the £2m bit sounds like bollocks and even the poster who reported it says that the source is unreliable yet some people are now talking about it like it's a fact. Craig 6702
Can I just point out a late addition....? Arsene Wenger has told Glenn Roeder he is in the frame for a sporting director role at Arsenal. (Sunday Express)

It may well be BS. It is however Dyer we're talking about, so equally it's utterly believable as well. It's very strange that the deal would be called off after fee is haggled over and agreed (after being rejected 2x), and medical passed and player wants to go and everything ready. Really the only thing would be Dyer or his agent throwing a huge last second spanner in the works.
