richg 0
Has Duff left the club? Why are we worrying about pace. When Chopra has gone for 5 million, bent for ridiculously more...it's a good signing. Ferguson signed him in the first place, has been capped for England several times, Champions League experience. Howay guys 6m isn't a great deal of money compared to Viana, Luque type spending on the basis of a craftily edited video.
Geordie Boyo 24
What position will he be playing? We've currently got Zoggy, Milner & Nobby playing all over the park at the minute. Can't really see why we've bought him, or why he himself has sienged knowing he's pretty much just a squad player as he was with Manure.

Lazarus 0
FFS! This is exactly the sort of strength in depth any club needs.

JawD 99
Isnt he as much a midfielder as a forward though? I think he played up front and RM for Leeds and RM for Man U. Just was was more associated to playing up front with Viduka for Leeds.
2bias 3
We need as much cover as we can get. So far all the players which have left have been replaced well, and altho smith is alot differn't than dyer i think he can prove to be what we need in the middle of the park. His link up play has been shear class as well as helping out at the back, I think he's been *tries to get his breath back* fandoopatastic! Duff/Zoggy Barton/Emre Pattison/ Nobby Smith/Milner Geremi/Butt I think Zoggy would be a little pissed if he misses out on the starting line-up while Duff is injured. tinofbeans 91
a couple of my mates (who are leeds fans) say when he was playing for leeds he did everything except put the ball in the net very regularly. as a forward he has good movement , reasonable mobility ( not that quick) and occasional touches of class. as a midfielder his passing is not good enough neither his timing of tackles. if i had 6m spare i'd try to buy heinze from man utd. suits us as he's a player we need and someone who'd improve the team. smith will not do that. Shearergol 0
Heinze might have some say in where he goes. At least there's a chance Smith would come here.
bawan 0
Is there no one better out there thats better then Heinze because we seem to be consistently linked with him.... no one thought Wayne Bridge would be a better choice for us because hes younger and hes only second choice at Chelsea were as if he comes here he will get his game on a regular basis. I think we would get bridge for £6m
Jimbo 175
SSN just showed a very brief interview with Smith, looks like they sneaked up on him outside a shop. He said all going well he'll sign tomorrow morning.

jaythesouthernmag 0
A few seasons back there was an interview with Nesta or Canavaro (cant remember which), the guy asked him which striker he had least liked to play against. His answer was Alan Smith. What you get with Smith is an agressive fucker who gives 100% and IMO we have not had enough of these in the past and now we`ve got 2 if Barton doesnt go down
Glen 0
He seems keen to play for us as well. If we get the Seville defender, forgotten his name, and Cacapa, I'll be a happy bunny.
