Scottish Mag 3
Manchester City have struck a £5.7million deal with Fiorentina for Valeri Bojinov, according to reports in Italy. The Bulgarian striker spent last season on loan at Juventus but only made a handful of appearances and was not offered a full-time contract. He is not looking to return to Fiorentina and admits a move to the Premier League would be ideal. "I hope I never have to come back to Fiorentina again," Bojinov told Gazzetta dello Sport before flying home to Bulgaria with his agent at the weekend. "England would be a perfect solution." City are understood to have lodged a bid with Viola earlier this week and it now appears a deal is in place. Sven Goran Eriksson has been working hard to strengthen his squad since being appointed as City boss and has already brought in four new faces. As well as Bojinov's Bulgarian compatriot Martin Petrov, Eriksson has also signed Rolando Bianchi, Gelson Fernandes and Geovanni.

Scottish Mag 3
No messing about at City.. Manchester City are understood to have agreed a deal for Vedran Corluka. According to reports in Croatia, the 6ft 3in defender is poised to join City from Dinamo Zagreb for a fee in the region of 13million euros (£8.7million). Corluka, who played for Croatia when they defeated England in a Euro 2008 qualifier, would also need to be granted a work permit before a transfer could be finalised. "Dinamo get ¿13 million, while Corluka will be paid ¿15 million for his five-year-long contract," Dinamo vice-president Zdravko Mamic told 24sata.hr. Sven Goran Eriksson has been working hard to strengthen his squad since being appointed as City boss and has already brought in four new faces in Martin Petrov, Rolando Bianchi, Gelson Fernandes and Geovanni. The Swede's efforts to sign a defender were thwarted when Juventus rejected an offer for Giorgio Chiellini, but he has now turned his focus elsewhere. As well as Corluka, Eriksson is also closing in on Real Sociedad left-back Javi Garrido. City are also reported to have agreed a deal for Fiorentina striker Valeri Bojinov. ewerk 31238
Apparently Eriksson has spent his last year out of football scouting and drawing up a list of targets for whatever club he joined so when he took over he probably just handed the list to the club and told them to get the players. Tooj 17
Don't know how he'll do if I'm being honest. The talent he has is undoubted, but he's the kind of player that a team will perhaps need building around, also with his questionable attitude and temperament, I'm not entirely convinced that when things aren't going for him he's the type of player required. Jimbo 175
Sounds like a top signing, but when you look at his scoring record its shite.

Aye and in "the hole" too, but even so his return looks pretty poor to me for an attacking player.
