bawan 0
Newcastle United misfit Albert Luque is hoping for a chance to shine this season under new manager Sam Allardyce. The Spanish forward was brought to The Magpies by Graeme Souness, although he rarely featured and that trend continued under Glenn Roeder. With former Bolton boss Allardyce now at St James' Park the ex-Deportivo La Coruna ace simply wants a run in the side to show what he can do. "I'm happy, but I'm very demanding with myself and I know I can give more on the pitch," stated Luque. "I am perhaps having the best feeling since I arrived at Newcastle and I only ask that they give me opportunities. "I have had a good understanding with the new trainer since his arrival. I believe I am demonstrating what I can do, little by little. "But my problems at Newcastle have not been due to lack of communication with the different trainers, but simply that I have not had enough continuity in the team." Offshore Toon 0
If he made the effort on the pitch, he wouldn't be in the position that he is now.

He has at times, if this was the case then we would have no players? The whole team has sufferd from bone idleness in the last couple of years. Glen 0
He's alright as cover for the moment. Up front, we seem to have a decent choice. Nice options.
Chaser 1276
BS has said he needs to really push himself through the pain barrier this season to be fit for the premier league, which leads me to summise that he was well off fitness in previous seasons. Sam reckons Luque has never properly recovered from his hamstring tear, which was pretty serious. Says a lot about our previous regime IMO.Hope he pushes on and does what he did for Depo
Noelie 103
Would I like Luque to have a major impact this season?........................................Of course I would. Do I think he can , and will? ...............................................................................O course I don't. In regard to him wanting a Magpie chance I can't help but believe that he has been given enough chances to prove his worth and has failed to do so. Big Sam may want to see if he can make a silk purse out of a sows ear and I hope he can but I just don't think it will happen. And as for Luque not fully recovering from his early calf injury sounds like a load of shite to me. Edited July 29, 2007 by Noelie

It wasn't like that when I typed it and I even tried to edit it and make it right but it came out the same way again.

When was he given a fair crack by Roeder?.
