curry stained pilchard 0
skysports Sam Allardyce felt there was no merit in risking the unsettled Kieron Dyer in Newcastle United's friendly win over Celtic. Dyer sat out the 4-1 victory at St James' Park as speculation grows regarding his future in the North East. The midfielder is looking to leave the club due to family reasons and has been linked with Premier League rivals Manchester City and West Ham United. Though no bids have been received for the England international, Allardyce opted to take a prudent course of action against Celtic. "We were protecting our asset, there's a big value in him," said Allardyce after the game. "He could have played and been one of the casualties like Nicky Butt or Steven Taylor. "It depends how long Nicky's injury is and who we buy as to if Kieron becomes more valuable to us. There's not been a bid in for him yet." Allardyce is also waiting on an injury update on Steven Taylor, who was hurt in a challenge after dwelling on the ball. "Steven is a little inexperienced in his game yet and put himself in a position in which he got himself injured," said the Newcastle boss. "He needs to learn from that, because he has felt the pain of doing the wrong thing at the wrong time, which is something we don't want him to do. "He has to learn the fact that not putting himself in that position means you don't get yourself injured." Edited July 27, 2007 by Fat Boy

Barney 0
Was hoping he'd go to West Ham. I reckon Jol might actually get some use out of him.

jaythesouthernmag 0
You can see why Spurs want him, Obviously 12 midfielders isnt enough. In Dyers favour tho` he`s not used to playing many games so should fit right in.
Chaser 1321
Spurs must have one of the biggest squads in the league. Surely they'll struggle to keep all their stars happy.
